Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing defender Tyrone Mings on a permanent basis according to reports.
Mings spent last season on-loan at Villa Park and helped the club achieve promotion to the Premier League.
It is understood that head coach Dean Smith is keen on the player and revealed towards the end of last season that he would love to sign the defender permanently.
Mings was one of the best players in the Championship last season helping the Villans to hold the fort at the back. The player has returned back to his parent club Bournemouth as both clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee.
Bournemouth reportedly values the player at £15 million but Aston Villa are willing to offer much less for the 26-year-old. In spite of this, Villa are reportedly confident of reaching an agreement in the coming days.
Mings dropped a hint on social media where he posted a picture of himself with a caption “just trying to get some direction”.
This has been interpreted that he is awaiting the conclusion of negotiations regarding his transfer.
The 26-year-old made 17 appearances for the Villans after joining in January. During this period he scored twice and connected with the fans due to his determination on the pitch.
This transfer looks likely and we should get more developments in the coming days.
