4-1-2-3: How Manchester United could line up with Bruno Fernandes

The Red Devils have completed two transfer deals this summer; Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, however, Portugal international, Bruno Fernandes is expected to join the list in the next few hours.

This comes as reports from Portugal over the weekend reveal that the Red Devils have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon worth £55 million for Fernandes.

The deal is expected to be announced officially in the next 24 to 48 hours prior to which Fernandes will undergo his medicals.

Fernandes has a good goal scoring record with 20 goals and 13 assists to his name last season, the Red Devils will expect more of this for him as they hope to return to the top of the table.

How Man Utd can line up with Fernandes;

At the moment, there are chances that world cup winner, Paul Pogba might not leave Old Trafford.

If the Frenchman remains at Man Utd, manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will play him at the center midfield alongside Fernandes.

With the two being attacking midfielders, Man Utd are expected to score more goals next season, however, the weight of the game will be felt by Nemanja Matic, who will be expected to play defensive even though he is not at his best at the moment.

Another option available to the Norwegian manager is to use Scott McTominay in place of Matic even though the former is without much experience but better.

However, Ole Solskjaer will have to worry about his front three as it means he would have to use wingers with limited defensive responsibilities while the center midfielder will always move in to cover for them when he doesn’t have the ball.
