Liverpool are quite relaxed in their pursuit of summer targets but they are expected to make a couple of signings to match their ambition for a Premier League trophy which narrowly eluded them in the 2018/19 season.
Jurgen Klopp is apparently happy with his current squad but it may be naive to rule out the possibility of another big name joining the club this summer.
A £40m bid for Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes was rejected and it is reported that The Reds won’t be placing another offer for the Portuguese midfielder this summer.
We take a look at how Liverpool could line up if their top targets join the club this summer.
In goal, Alisson Becker is sure to start. The Brazil international kept a whooping 21 clean sheets in 38 Premier League appearances to help his side to a second-placed finish on the EPL table.
Matthijs de Ligt has been linked with a move to Liverpool. The Ajax captain would partner compatriot Virgil van Dijk in central defence if he joins Liverpool. However, it remains to be seen if the Anfield club can match the £350k-per-week wage package, offered by PSG, in a bid to lure him to England.
Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are expected to man the left and right sides of the defence respectively.
Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are sure to play in a midfield that has the likes of Naby Keita and James Milner are jostling for a spot in the first XI.
In attack, Firminho will play behind the striker while Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah play from the right and left wings respectively.
Liverpool have been told to pay £95m for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann. The forward has shown he can perform at top level and is strongly linked with a move to Barcelona.
His signing could however prove to provide the cutting edge of a treble-winning season for Liverpool, as they have shown not to be afraid of splashing the cash for top players.
