4-5-1: How Man United could line up with Fernandes and new boy Daniel James

Manchester United have been busy in the transfer window this summer with the arrivals of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James. With the news of the impending transfer of Bruno Fernandes, we preview how United would lineup with the Portuguese next season.

David De Gea is the undisputed No. 1 for the team and should be the man in goal.

The defence would see a new addition of Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right, with United player of the season Luke Shaw on the opposite flank.

Chris Smalling should partner Victor Lindelof in the centre back unless the club can bring in Harry Maguire in which case Smalling would be the one to drop out.

The midfield would be more of the same with the Matic playing in the holding midfield role with Pogba partnering him. Bruno Fernandes would be expected to play as the advanced midfielder with his creativity and goal-scoring ability a useful attribute for the position

New signing Daniel James would occupy the right-wing position, which has been a problem for the club in past seasons. His pace and crossing ability makes him a good fit for the role.

Anthony Martial edges out Alexis Sanchez in the left-wing role. The Frenchman is a player capable of the sublime but lacks consistency. This could change next season.  Marcus Rashford is expected to lead the team upfront bringing a mix of pace and clinical finishing to the team.
