William Saliba is a player that has been linked to the Gunners in the past few weeks with contrasting speculations circulating in the media. However, it appears that the transfer of the player has hit another snag according to reports from France.
The GFFN claims that Arsenal are yet to match Saint-Étienne’s valuation of the defender. It is understood that Arsenal are yet to table the initial fee of €27 million and St Etienne want proof of the full payment.
Saliba has already agreed on personal terms with the club and is looking forward to starring for the player. The France u21 international is regarded as a future star on the basis of his keen defensive attributes.
Comfortable on the ball and possessing aerial prowess, he would be expected to provide competition for the likes of Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny next season. The only bright note from this transfer is that Arsenal are in pole position to sign the defender as they are already in contact with the player.
Arsenal appears to be having cold feet about spending a lot of money for the young defender. However they have to complete the deal quickly before Tottenham hijacks the deal.
Arsenal fans would be hoping that this deal would be completed in time for pre-season.
