It appears Liverpool are back for Nabil Fekir if reports circulating happen to be true.
According to Nicolo Schira, a journalist who works for Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Reds are preparing a move in a bid to lure the Lyon attacker to Anfield.
The French international was close to joining the English club last summer but an investigation into Fekir’s niggling knee problem was enough to scupper the deal. Prior to that, Liverpool had agreed a £53million deal for the midfielder who was meant to be the direct replacement for Philippe Coutinho
This time, it is claimed that Liverpool have offered the player a five-year deal worth £18million. The Journalist also claims that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas values the attacker at £45million.
Lyon risk losing their star man next summer as his contract with them runs out in the summer of 2020. Liverpool could yet take advantage of the situation to sign Fekir for a fee significantly than Lyon’s valuation for the 25-year-old.
Adding Fekir to Liverpool’s attack won’t be a bad idea, as the attacker’s numbers are quite impressive.
He recorded 12 goals and 9 assists in 39 appearances for Lyon and such contribution makes sense for a side gunning for the Premier League title.
