The transfer of Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes shows no signs of settling soon as different clubs continue to submit bids for the highly rated midfielder.
The two clubs that are understood to be battling for his signature includes Tottenham and Manchester United. According to reports from Portugal, Fernandes agent Miguel Pinho has returned to Portugal after visiting the officials of Manchester United and Tottenham.
It is understood that both clubs have offered similar terms to the player but neither side are willing to meet the £62 million valuation of Sporting Lisbon.
Tottenham are keen on the midfielder as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Christian Eriksen, while United are looking for a capable midfield partner for star player Paul Pogba.
Despite both clubs offering similar contract terms, United have the edge as the Portugal international is fascinated with the history and attention that comes with playing at Old Trafford.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on the move as he has the midfielder high on his priority list of five signings that he believes can turn the club to title contenders next season.
The Red Devils are reportedly close to the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and have already announced the signing of Welsh winger Daniel James from Swansea.
Fernandes will be an excellent signing, as he would significantly improve the midfield of either club.
