Manchester City target Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he prefers a move to Liverpool than the Etihad.
Fernandes is considered as one of the best midfielders in Europe, with the Portuguese international posting big numbers this season.
He is highly coveted as a number of top EPL clubs such as Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in his signature. However with his comments Liverpool could have a chance to sign the 24-year-old.
Liverpool have lacked a proper goal threat in midfield as the club failed to sign Lyon’s Nabil Fekir last summer. The likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Wijnaldum pose more of a physical threat than a goal scoring threat, as the trio managed to chalk up a combine 12 goals last season.
Fernandez, however, would instantly fix this problem as he providing a genuine threat from attacking midfield for his side where he scored a career high 31 goals and provided 17 assists last season.
However, Manchester United appears to be favourites to sign the player with the Red Devils rumoured to have submitted a bid of £60 million for the midfielder.
United are looking to rebuild and Fernandes is seen as a player that can complement Paul Poland and Nemanja Matic in the middle of the park.
It remains to be seen whether a transfer to Liverpool would materialise for the attacking midfielder.
