Arsenal close to completing deal for first summer signing

The transfer of William Saliba to Arsenal has been a subject of speculations for the past few weeks. Several reports in England have published conflicting reports about the transfer but from all indications the transfer could be close to fruition.

ESPN claims that the Gunners have agreed a transfer fee for the player who is set to become their first signing of the season.

The report continues by revealing that the North London club managed to beat rivals Tottenham to the signing of the young defender.

Saliba is expected to cost the club £22million and would loan the defender back to the club next season.

Saliba is considered as a quality defender with the potential to develop into a world-class performer. His signing would continue the Gunners policy of signing young talented players following Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira arrival last season.

It is not stated when the transfer would be made official but it is most likely to happen in the coming days.

The Gunners have also been linked with Crystal Palace forward Wilfred Zaha in what could be a sensational transfer. While Sampdoria pair of Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet have also been mentioned as potential signings.
