Unai Emery is reported to be mulling over a move for two Barcelona players if reports from various English tabloids are true.
The Sun reports that the club are seeking to sign a centre-back, with Samuel Umtiti rumoured to be favoured to replace Laurent Koscielny turns 34 in September.
It is apparent why Emery wants a defender signed early, as he saw his side concede an incredible 51 League goals last term.
The same report suggests that the Umtiti would not come cheap as Barcelona have slapped a £53m price tag on the 25-year-old. That alone could be the dealbreaker in this deal for the injury-prone defender who has been battling with knee injuries in recent years.
Another player reported to be under Arsenal’s radar is Malcolm. It is claimed that the north London side are also keen to sign the winger to bolster their attack and also as a direct replacement for Danny Welbeck.
Malcolm is considered a fringe player at Barca where he made just 16 appearances last season.
Insiders are claiming the Catalan giants are ready to offload the Brazilian player and would be interested in any move worth £45m.
Malcolm regrets his move to Barcelona and it is reported that his agents are on talks with the club over a potential transfer this summer.
