Premier League side Arsenal are keen on signing PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe according to French media.
Soccerlink claims that the Gunners have contacted Kimpembe’s father as they look to begin talks with the player over a potential move.
Kimpembe is open to a move to England and Arsenal are looking to swoop for the World Cup winner.
The player moved through the ranks of the PSG youth setup and is considered as one of the top young defenders in Europe. Premier League sides Manchester United and Tottenham are also interested in the player.
Arsenal will have to move quickly as the club have a tight budget and would be looking to avoid a bidding war for the 23-year-old defender.
Kimpembe was a major feature in the starting XI, making 24 appearances in the French League and eight appearances in the Champions League.
The impending arrival of Dutch wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt means that appearances could be hard to come by next season and Kimpembe could also be sold for financial reasons.
Kimpembe is a level above the current options available to Unai Emery at the Emirates stadium and, at 23, still has time to improve his game. Emery is also familiar with the defender having managed the French defender during his time in PSG.
A transfer fee is yet to be mentioned but a player of his quality should be worth between £30-£40 million.
