Arsenal have held transfer talks with Real Madrid – but not to discuss the transfer of Dani Ceballos.
Spanish news source AS reports that both clubs are negotiating over a deal, which could see winger Lucas Vazquez, make a permanent move to north London.
It is reported that the Gunners have been told to pay an initial £28.7m, with a further £2.7m in add-ons which works out at £31.4m deal for the 28-year-old.
Daily Express say that the deal could be completed next week if Arsenal meet the Madrid’s £30m valuation of the experienced winger.
Vazquez is now considered a fringe player at the Santiago Bernabeu and it is about to get worse for him as the arrival of Eden Hazard provides stiff competition for a spot in the right wing.
The Spanish attacker is reportedly one of the players who have been told to look elsewhere for more regular game time. Vazquez still has two years left on his contract with Madrid but his ambition to play in the Euro 2020 for Spain means he has to look elsewhere for regular first team action.
He made 31 La Liga appearances last term but 16 of those games were as a substitute. Since making his senior debut for Madrid, the winger has recorded 14 goals and 34 assists in 155 appearances for the Spanish giant.
