Arsenal are looking to sign Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay as the replacement for outgoing midfielder Aaron Ramsey. According to German tabloid Bild, the 25-year-old is seen as a capable and affordable replacement for the Welshman.
Ramsey signed for Juventus in January and would be moving to Italy in the summer on a free transfer bringing down the curtain to his career at the Emirates.
It is understood that the German has a release clause of £22million and Arsenal have already made contact with his club over a possible transfer. Demirbay has been one of the best players for the club contributing four goals and six assists this season.
He also played in the Champions League for Hoffenheim and would be no stranger to European big nights if he makes the move.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is expected to be given a limited budget in the summer and the Spaniard is looking for young players that can fit his philosophy.
At the moment the Gunners remain the favourites to sign the 25-year old but it is believed that he is on the radar of other European clubs.
Demirbay is familiar with the high pressing game that the Spaniard prefers from his time at Hoffenheim and the transfer looks like one with a lot of substance to it.
