Arsenal move to agree £30m fee for attacker targeted by Fenerbahce

It is the worst kept secret that Unai Emery has been handed £45m for the recruitment of new players. However report can confirm that the manager has a well-thought-out plan to boost his war chest this summer.

The Mirror reports that Arsenal have slammed a £30m price tag on ex German international Mesut Ozil to fund their summer transfer spree. Further report suggests that even the aforementioned fee is considered exorbitant, as no club is yet to formally make an offer for the attacker.

Ozil has been linked with a move to the likes of Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

Ozil currently takes home £350k per week and Emery appears determined to cut such excesses going into the new season.

The Seemingly frugal boss cannot wrap his head around Ozil earning that much. It is being reported by some sources that the attacker is willing to run down his current contract at the Emirates stadium.

Ozil’s current contract runs until the summer of 2021 but he risks playing a fringe role at the club if he insists on staying.

Arsenal are also insisting on £12.5m fee for defender Calum Chambers who has been linked with a move to Lazio.

Arsenal are linked with a move for Yannick Carassco and Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser but it is reported that Emery favours the latter which could set them back about £30m.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to tie Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to new contracts believed to be worth £200,000 per week respectively.
