Arsenal have emerged favourites to sign Ajax forward Hakim Ziyech. The 25-year-old had announced in the past week that he would be leaving the Dutch side in the summer leading to speculations about his next destination.
It has been revealed that Arsenal are the most likely to sign the Morocco international due to his desire to play for the club. Ziyech once granted an interview where he professed his desire to play for the Gunners one day.
It is also claimed that Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil is the role model of the player and his release clause of £25m (€28.4m) looks like the bargain buy for the London club.
Arsenal have operated on a tight budget in the past two transfer windows and it has been reported that the club has pegged its transfer budget at £45 million for the summer if they fail to win the Europa League.
Ziyech would be the sort of player that can change bring an extra dimension to the club. He is skilful, creative, hardworking and with an eye for goal which fits ideally with coach Unai Emery’s philosophy.
Furthermore, the Morrocco forward can also play different positions in the attack and the midfield making him a useful option with different tactics.
Ziyech was exceptional this season as he was involved in 33 goals helping Ajax the Eredivisie and the Dutch Cup titles.
