The transfer window has reached the stage where clubs are beginning to close in on several transfer targets.
Spanish Giants Real Madrid have been on the forefront spending £350 million on signings which is a far cry from the £40 million transfer budget available to Arsenal.
A latest report from Italy does not bode well for the Gunners who are set to lose out on PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot. He is available on a free transfer this summer after refusing a new contract with the French club.
According to El Chitinguito, Rabiot is set to sign a five-year contract with Italian champions Juventus after turning down several clubs. According to the report the player would earn £6.2million a year, which equates to £120,000 weekly.
Rabiot is an excellent midfielder with the ability to dictate the tempo of the game with his close control and passing ability.
It is surprising that Arsenal have let the player slip away following the reports that the club has financial constraints in signing big transfers. Rabiot comes at no transfer costs and the wages paid by Juventus £120,000 a week is not huge for a club that pays Ozil £350,000 s week.
The departure if Aaron Ramsey to Juventus also leaves the club light in midfield and Rabiot would have been a good fit. Admittedly the 24-year-old comes with disciplinary problems but he has the quality to transform the midfield.
Arsenal have been linked with Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega and Sampdoria Dennis Praet it remains to be seen if the club would be able to bring in quality midfield signings.
