2018-2019 Europa League runner-up, Arsenal are determined to make progress in the coming season especially as Unai Emery looks to sign quality players in the summer window.
Arsenal are hoping to however seal double transfer deal this week according to the London Evening Standard.
The Gunners are expected to complete the transfer of Real Madrid midfielder, Dani Ceballos and Saint-Etienne youngster, William Saliba.
According to the report, Ceballos will be the first to arrive of the duo, this is because there was a breakthrough in the negotiations between Arsenal and Real Madrid on Monday night.
The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to join the Gunners on loan for one season with no option to buy.
He is expected to fly in to London before the end of this week for his medical.
Emery was full of praise for Ceballos ahead of Arsenal pre-season tour match vs Real Madrid in Washington on Tuesday night.
Emery described the 22-year-old midfielder as a good player, whom he knew from Real Betis. Once Ceballos arrives Emirates, the Gunners will focus on the deal for 18-year-old Saliba.
Arsenal will pay £27 million to Saint-Etienne to seal the deal but they will loan him back to the club for the next season. It is reported that player is expected to medical today ahead of official announcement this week.
Emery has disclosed he wants to sign more players before the August 8th deadline.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move to sign William Zaha and Kieran Tierney but the deals look far from becoming a reality.
