Arsenal have been busy in the transfer window as the club are looking to strengthen after a decent debut season for manager Unai Emery.
It is believed that the Spanish tactician is keen to make a sensational transfer for Sampdoria stars Dennis Praet and Joachim Anderson.
The Mirror claims that the Gunners have seen an opening bid of £37 million rejected by the Italian side.
Dennis Praet and Joachim Anderson are considered key members of the first team and Sampdoria have demanded a fee of £44 million for both players.
Emery has identified the defensive and midfield as two positions that need new faces this summer.
Praet and Anderson fits the bill as young players that can bring instant impact to the team and are versatile enough to play different positions.
Anderson is considered one of the best defenders in the Italian League and would be an upgrade to Shkodran Mustafi while Praet would be a good replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey.
Italian giants AC Milan are also said to be interested in the players but the failure to qualify for the Champions League could thwart their plans.
This looks like a good deal for the Premier League outfit, £44 million is a decent price for both players.
