Arsenal were reported to be closing in on Celtic defender Kieran Tierney as several reports claimed that a deal was close. However, the Times claims that the transfer has taken a new twist after the Gunners had their second bid rejected by the Scottish giant.
The report revealed that the second offer was significantly higher than the initial bid of £15 million rejected by the club. However, Celtic are holding out for £25 million which is their valuation of their prized asset.
Tierney is considered to be the best left-back in the Scottish League due to his excellent performances for the club in the past few seasons. He is also a fan favorite having passed through the youth grade.
This could be a major reason why the Scottish champions are looking to receive a premium fee before releasing the player. The good news for Arsenal fans is that both clubs are still in negotiations.
£15m for Kieran Tierney does seem rather low when you recall that Emilio Izaguirre went for £15m, Beram Kayal went for £20m and Dedryck Boyata went for £50m.

Enough of the bullshit.

Kieran Tierney is worth like £15m max. He plays in a shit league. He may come to England and prove himself he’s just no Andy Robertson though

Some conflicting reports suggest that Arsenal are wary that the transfer of Tierney would severely deplete their transfer coffers.
This means that the club would have to sell some players and current left back Sead Kolasinac has been touted to be on his way out of the club.
It remains to be seen if both clubs would reach a resolution but from all indications, this transfer looks increasingly likely to occur.
