Aston Villa have been the busiest of the EPL teams in the summer transfer window as the newly promoted club have already made nine signings in what is shaping out to be a record-breaking summer for the club.
According to a source from Zimbabwe, Villa have agreed a deal to bring Club Brugge midfielder Marvelous Nakamba to the club.
Nakamba had earlier hit the headlines in the summer after refusing to train with his club after an initial bid was turned down. It is understood that Villa persisted on the deal and have agreed to buy the defensive midfielder in a deal worth over £11 million.
Nakamba is regarded as a workhouse in the midfield and would be expected to provide solidity in the middle of the park if he makes the move. The 25-year-old would become the second player to make a move from Club Brugge after the arrival of forward Wesley Moraes last week.
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is said to be keen in the Zimbabwe international, as he looks to build a team that could avoid the drop next season. Nakamba failed to impress at AFCON 2019 for his country as he sustained an injury in the opening match to Egypt.
Villa are said to be eyeing a move for a goalkeeper with the likes of Tom Heaton and Neil Etheridge said to be tabled as potential transfer targets.
Aston Villa fans would be pleased with the amount of investment that has been pumped into the club this season.
