There had been reports last month that the League One side was in talks with Aston Villa for the attacker. This appears to be true as Tranmere have gotten the England u20 international on a loan deal.
Hepburn-Murphy spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Cambridge United netting two goals in 16 appearances. The pacy forward holds the record for the second youngest debutant at the club history at 16 years and 176 days.
There are high hoped for the youngster who is highly rated by manager Dean Smith and Villa backroom staff. He would be expected to get regular playing time with the League One side this season.
Aston Villa meanwhile have signed Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton and Club Brugge midfielder Marvelous Nakamba bringing the number of signings this season to 13.
