Aston Villa have signed Brentford defender Ezri Konsa in a transfer worth £12 million.
The 21-year-old had been a major target for Aston Villa in the past few weeks after impressing for Brentford last season.
The defender played 47 times for Brentford last season after making the move from Charlton in 2018. Konsa is seen as a player that can take the next step towards becoming a quality player.
The Villans have spent a lot of money on their defence having signed Matt Targett for £15m and Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth.
The latter made the transfer last week in what is believed to be a fee of £20million.
Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe has also been linked with the possibility of returning to the club on another loan transfer. However, It is not known whether the player would be willing to make the move after signing a new deal with the club.
Villa have spent a lot of money this season. Konsa would be the sixth player agreeing a deal to player for Dean Smith this summer. The club have also been linked to other players as they seek to maintain their Premier League status next season.
Konsa is considered one of the top young talents in the Championship and would face bigger tests in the Premier League.
