Chelsea have offered young prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi a new five-year deal and have granted the player first team assurances.
It is understood that new manager Frank Lampard has spoken with the player and has convinced him to commit his future with the club.
Hudson-Odoi came close to joining German side Bayern Munich in January after handing over a transfer request. He was frustrated with playing second fiddle under Maurizio Sarri last campaign.
Hudson-Odoi earned a call-up to the England national team in March despite failing to make a start for the Blues during that period.
Bayern Munich had several bids rejected by Chelsea as they looked to keep the youngster. Hudson-Odoi later became a major part of the first team before suffering an Achilles injury towards the end of the season.
The new contract is believed to be the region of £100,000 a week and that would end Bayern Munich hopes of signing the player.
Chelsea fans will be happy with the news as this means that one of the academy stars would be committing his long-term future with the club. Another fellow academy graduate in Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also expected to sign a new deal with the club.
These are indeed happy times for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
