Chelsea have endured a quiet transfer window this summer. This is largely due to the transfer ban placed on the club by governing body FIFA. This has seen the club hand over new contracts to both established and young players in the Blues setup.
The latest Chelsea player to receive a new contract is young defender Trevoh Chalobah. The 20-year-old is understood to have been offered a new contract as reported by The Evening Standard.
According to the report, the Blues have offered Chalobah a two-year extension to his current contract which still has two years before it elapses.
Chalobah is highly rated by the club and is the younger brother of former Chelsea ace Nathaniel Chalobah.
The 20-year-old is versatile and can play in the midfield or slot at the back. It is understood that after signing the contract he is likely to go out on loan this season.
The likes of Huddersfield Town and West Brom are said to be interested in signing the youngster.
Chalobah is not the only player to have been offered a new contract as the likes of Reece James, Willian, Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi are said to be closing in on new deals.
