Chelsea eager to sign two new ex players

Chelsea football club have an opening for the director of football and two ex players, Ballack and Julian Belleti and others have applied for the job. 

A director of football is a senior management figure at a football (soccer) club, most commonly in Europe. The exact nature of the role is often unclear but they sometimes act as intermediary between manager and the board. 

Germany Michael Ballack joined Chelsea in 2006 from Bayern Munich. He was a popular figure during his four years stay at the club before returning to Bayern Leverkusen after turning down a one year contract extension. 

Julian Belleti was also a popular name in the team after joining from Barcelona a year after Ballack arrived. He played in a lot of memorable games for the Blues bringing to bear his technic and winning mentality through the right back position. 

They both left in 2010 when their contract was not renewed by the club owner, citing their age as the reason. 

Eight years later, they are being vetted for a job as a replacement for the previous director of football, Michael Emenalo who vacated his position to join AS Monaco last season.
