Chelsea have a huge void to replace with the exit of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. Several players have been linked to the club as potential replacements and one of them is Leon Bailey.
The Bayer Leverkusen ace is one of the players that always seems to be linked to every big club during transfer windows. The Daily Star claims that Chelsea are looking towards signing Bailey as a replacement for Eden Hazard.
Bailey has been one of the rising stars in the German League with his impressive performances for Leverkusen. It is thought that Bailey has played his last season for the club and a transfer is likely to occur this summer.
The likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and PSG have been linked with the pacey forward but Chelsea appears to be the leading contender for his signature.
Chelsea has cash to splash as the transfer of Eden Hazard is expected to net the club £130 million.
Bailey is a good player with the necessary talent to thrive in the Premier League but his drop in form this season and attitude problems could prove problematic for the Blues. Despite this, the 21-year-old offers versatility, as he is capable of playing in any of the positions up front.
Chelsea would need to resolve the current transfer ban placed on the club by FIFA in order to complete the move.
It remains to be seen if the Stamford Bridge outfit would be willing to sanction a huge outlay for the young forward.
