Club move to agree €10m deal with Chelsea for versatile defender

Chelsea face a crucial summer with uncertainties surrounding the future of star player Eden Hazard and manager Maurizio Sarri.

One player whose future is about to be settled is Chelsea fullback Ola Aina. The Nigerian international has spent the past season on loan at Italian outfit, Torino.

He has impressed at the club putting up excellent performances and the club are looking to take up the option to sign him permanently.

Italian outlet Tuttosport reports that Torino President Urbano Cairo has agreed to trigger €10m buyout clause in his current contract. It is understood that Cairo had initially tried to renegotiate the fee but the Blues refused to budge on their valuation of the defender.

Aina is a versatile player capable of playing both fullback positions and loves to move forward with attacking runs. He is also a decent one on one defender and capable of making crucial interceptions to prevent opposition attacks down the flanks.

At just 22, the Nigerian international can establish himself at Torino and become one of the best defenders in Italy.

Aina was an ever-present in the Torino first-team where he made 30 appearances, scoring once and laid on three assists.
