One of the major story this summer has been the transfer of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
The 24-year-old has been on the radar of several clubs following his impressive Campaign last season.
Manchester United had been the favourites to sign the €89million rated midfielder as the club had made an offer worth €60 million for his services. However, in a late twist it is reported that Liverpool had made a late bid for the Portugal international.
Despite this, reports in Portugal say that the player has set his heart on a move to Old Trafford. Portuguese news outlet The Record claims that Fernandes agent has made advanced negotiations with United and a deal is close to fruition.
Fernandes came to the limelight last season. The midfielder finally displayed his potentials as he became the talisman for the Portuguese side.
He scored 32 goals and provided 18 assists from the advanced midfield position. Manchester United boss are on the player as he rebuilds ahead of next season. With this latest development it is only a matter of time before the move is confirmed by both clubs.
