Manchester United have been in the news in recent days as the club have been linked with the transfer of Monaco ace Youri Tielemans.
It was thought that both clubs were closing in on a deal however recent reports from England suggest otherwise.
The Sunday Telegraph revealed today that Manchester United had passed up the opportunity to sign the 22-year old midfielder.
The report further claims that the reason for the breakdown in talks is that Monaco are demanding £40 million for the midfielder.
This news comes as a surprise following recent revelations that star midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he could be on his way out of the club in the summer. Pogba told reporters that he wants a new challenge and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reported to be working hard to complete the deal.
Tielemans showed during his brief stint at Leicester last campaign that he has what it takes to thrive in the Premier League. His vision and ability to implement the high-pressing football favoured by manager Brendan Rodgers makes him the right fit for United.
With this news, it appears that Leicester are now the favourites to sign the Belgium international while United would have to move on to other targets.
