Arsenal are looking to bolster their defence this summer with several players linked to the club. One name that has been mentioned in the past few days is PSG fullback, Thomas Meunier.
The Belgian international is a reportedly a key target for Arsenal according to reports in England. The Sun claims that Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made personal contact with the player about a potential move.
Emery has a longstanding relationship that goes back to his days at PSG when he was the manager and Meunier could be tempted to reunite with his former manager.
It is understood that Meunier is looking to exit the French club this season with his agent working round the clock to secure a transfer for his client.
PSG reportedly wants a transfer fee of £25-£30 million for the marauding fullback which Arsenal are ready to match.
Meunier has endured a difficult season in which he has not always been the first choice for manager Thomas Tuchel.
Injuries and squad rotations have hampered the 27-year-old from making a regular stake but despite this, he posted a decent stat last term.
Meunier played in 31 games in all competitions netting five times and providing seven assists which is a good return for a fullback.
Meunier is the sort of player that fits into Emery’s style and it would be fascinating to see how he would cope with the increased intensity of the Premier League.
