Chelsea is a club that defies expectations when it comes to their managers who always appear to be on borrowed time.
The latest saga is regarding the future of current manager Maurizio Sarri who has been linked with a move away from the club.
Despite finishing in the top 4 and winning the Europa League the Italian is widely expected to take over as the new coach at Juventus. This has thrown out the question of who the next manager would be at Stamford Bridge.
Several names have been thrown into the hat including that of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo. However, one surprising name been touted for the job is that of Watford boss Javi Garcia.
According to ESPN, Garcia is under consideration by Chelsea due to his success at Watford this season. The Spanish tactician guided Watford to the FA Cup final and secured the highest finish and points total for the club in the Premier League.
Garcia has achieved this with one of the lowest net spend in the division and with an easy to the eye football philosophy.
Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is currently the bookies favourite but Garcia would not be a bad choice.
For now, Garcia is committed to Watford after signing a four-year contract which expires in 2023. It would be interesting to see what he would be able to achieve with a talented Chelsea squad.
