Manchester United appear to have ended their interest in signing Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka after seeing two bids for the player thrown out of the window.
The English giants despite agreeing to pay a whooping £50m for the defender, they have been told to forget about signing their target unless the 20% sell-on clause United inserted in Wilfried Zaha’s contract is removed.
This has seen United turn their attention to Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj. It is reported that the Red Devils are in talks over a potential deal which could see Hysaj make the move to Old Trafford this summer.
The Albanian has always been on the club’s radar and it now looks as though they are finally set to get the 25-year-old.
Reports from Italy suggest that Napoli have reduced their asking price for Hysaj. The right-back is reported to have a €50m release clause in his contract but it is suggested that Napoli are willing to accept €25m fee from any interested club.
Hysaj stated his desire to leave Naples this summer, as he was quoted as saying he needs a change and he is ready for a new challenge. The defender still has two years left on his current contract but has called his time on his stay in Napoli.
United will face stiff competition for his signature from the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid. The defender, who can also play as a left-back, made 35 appearances for Napoli.
