Arsenal have become the latest team to be linked with Monaco winger Keita Balde according to widespread reports. Sky Sports claimed last week that the player had become a surprise target for the London club.
It is understood that the Gunners are looking to move on from the transfer of Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha and have identified Balde as a suitable replacement.
Zaha is thought to be interested in the move and has appealed to Crystal Palace to reduce their valuation of £80 million for his services. However, Arsenal have just £45 million to spend in the summer and are looking for young affordable players.
Keita Balde is regarded as a decent winger and he has been on the radar of several clubs since breaking out the Lazio team some seasons ago.
He switched to Monaco two seasons back but was loaned to Inter Milan last season where he scored just five goals all season.
Monaco are ready to sell and value the forward at around £25-£28 million. The Gunners are reportedly confident that the forward can be able to rediscover his form under the tutelage of Unai Emery.
Balde’s versatility and work rate makes him an excellent option for the London side but it remains to be seen how this transfer would develop in the coming days.
