Arsenal’s lust for a new defender in the summer has seen the club linked to a number of players including Eric Bailly of Manchester United. According to The Metro, the Gunners have been informed by the Red Devils that they need to pay £30 million for his services.
Bailly was the first signing during the tenure of Jose Mourinho joining from Villareal in a deal worth £30 million.
United want to recoup the money they spent on the player and are opened to selling the defender in the summer for £30 million. Arsenal have excelled under Unai Emery by reaching the Europa League final as they narrowly missed out of the top four places.
Notwithstanding, improving the defence remains a major issue for the team club captain Laurent Koscienly turned 34 and has endured an injury riddled campaign while Mustafi has frustrated in big games this season.
Bailly would be a quality signing for the backline. The 25-year-old has been out of favour this season under Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
A transfer to the Emirates would be a good move for the Ivorian as he seeks to rediscover his form. Bailly is currently injured having suffered an injury in the draw against Chelsea some weeks back.
