Gunners’ interest in Leandro Trossard confirmed by agent

Arsenal havebeen linked with several players in the past few weeks as we build up to the January transfer window.

Most of the reports have not had solid confirmations from either partynamed in the speculations. However, transfer target Leandro Trossard has been approached by Arsenalaccording to the words of his agent Josy Comhair.

Trossard has been impressive for Belgium league side Genk scoring 10 goals in all competitions so far. His form has not gone unnoticed and Unai Emery is believed to have identified Trossard as an ideal replacement for injury-strickenDanny Welbeck.

According to ConhairArsenal called to confirm their interest and have been monitoring the forward since August. He also revealed that the Gunnershave identified the Trossard as a player that fits theirideal transfer target and could move for the striker in the summer.

I contacted representatives from Arsenal and Tottenham. At Spurs, nobody wanted to confirm that Trossard is an option, but Arsenal did.

They told me Leandro has a very interesting profile for them and that they’ve been following him since August.

They also added it was a good choice to stay at Genk for another year. They ended the phone call with ‘They are keeping a close eye on him’.

Trossard has done well this season and would be taking a big step in his career with a move to the Emirates.  Furthermore Genk manager Phillipe Clement has rejected the news that Trossard would be leaving the club.

According to Clement,he has no immediate fear of the player leaving and was quoted saying that the forward would move for a fee above £25 million.

I’m not afraid Trossard is leaving, it was not so easy to keep him last summer, but we talked.

Normally no players leavesin January. 100 million is something else, but 25 million is not enough for Trossard to leave in January.

This transfer looks unlikely to occur in January but looks more feasible in the summer.
