Hazard’s father reveals why Chelsea star couldn’t join Real Madrid

In a recent report (cm.com), Hazard’s father, Thierry has revealed why his son couldn’t join los Blancos in the summer transfer window.

Hazard was a reported target for Champions League winners Real Madrid. The Belgian was perhaps recognised as a direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

Revelation has emerged that the sudden departure of former Real Madrid coach put paid to the interest in the Belgian who had an amazing impact for his country at the World Cup in Russia.

Hazard was interested in signing for the La Liga giants because of the elusive champions League trophy at Chelsea. Since he joined the Blues from Lille back in 2012, the Big O’ Ears remains the trophy he hasn’t won.

The former Lille man seems not to be in a hurry to extend his contract with the Blues with reports suggesting that finishing in the Champions League spot this season has been factored into his contract extension.

Although the Belgian still has a couple of years before his contract expires at Chelsea, the club is not willing to take chances on his departure just as Thibaut Courtois did. So they want him to promptly extend his five years offering.

Hazard failed o score in 2-2 draw against Burnley. Despite his poor form, He would however be pushing for a start against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Blues are fighting for a place in the top four but their Sunday opponent are organised differently, and they might find collecting the whole three points a big ask.
