Arsenal have been linked with the signing of Sampdoria ace Dennis Praet in a double swoop deal that involves teammate Joachim Andersen.
It is thought that the deal is close to fruition despite late interest from AC Milan and Napoli.
Praet’s agent appeared to suggest this in an interview where he hinted that his client could be on his way to the Emirates. There has been a late twist in recent days after AC Milan appointed Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo as their new manager.
This has brought about speculations that Praet could be on his way to the San Siro this summer.
Prat’s agent, Martin Riha, admitted in the interview that AC Milan was a good prospect as it is one of the biggest club in Italy. but he also revealed that there were other clubs outside Italy interested in his client.
Riha also claimed that Praet is ready to join a big club and that his future would be settled in the coming weeks.
“AC Milan is an important brand, it’s a big name. But there are also other clubs that want to sign him, especially abroad, they’ve already shown their interest.”
“Dennis is a complete footballer and he is ready to join a big club. There are many clubs interested, we’ll know everything in a few weeks.”
This is good news for the Gunners as this means that the talks of a potential transfer is real. Praet is seen as the perfect replacement for Juventus bound player Aaron Ramsey and boasts similar attributes to the Welshman.
It remains to be seen how this transfer would end but there could be clarity about his future in the coming days.
