Arsenal are reportedly close to sealing a transfer for Belgium star Yannick Carrasco according to reports from Spain.
Spanish outlet Sport (h/t Sunday Express) claims that the 25-year-old is close to completing a move from Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
The former Atletico Madrid came close to a move to the Emirates in January but the transfer failed to materialize.
It is understood that Carrasco has begun to negotiate personal terms with the player suggesting so in a recent interview. According to Carrasco, a move is likely on the cards as he looks to return to Europe and here’s how he would look in an Arsenal shirt if he eventually joins the club.
He also commented about his preference for the Premier League as he believes that the nature of the league means that he would get pockets of spaces which suits his style of play.
“I am aware that I am a very important player in this team.
From a family and personal point of view, I would like to return to Europe.” “It’s a more physical game, but there are also many spaces to run.”
Carrasco is an exceptional player when given time and space and would suit Arsenal style of play as he would bring width to the attack.
He is no stranger to the Gunners having scored twice at the Emirates stadium during his time at French side Monaco.
A transfer fee of £25 million has been touted by media sources, which is a reasonable fee for a forward possessing his qualities.
