Arsenal are reportedly interested in a sensational swoop for Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez according to news from England.
Perez has been impressive for the Magpies this season and there have been speculations that the forward wants to leave the club in the summer.
Italian side Inter Milan was believed to be the favourites for his signature but the Arsenal’s interest in the player have changed the narrative. Arsenal boss Unai Emery is expected to be given a tight budget in the summer and the Spaniard views Perez as a bargain signing.
Perez is understood to be valued at around £25 million by Newcastle who are open to selling in the summer. The 25-year-old has been impressive this season scoring 12 goals in 37 matches for the club including a nice finish on the last day victory at Fulham.
His attributes fit Emery’s ideology as Perezis known to be hardworking and a player that takes advantage of goalscoring opportunities. In addition he can play as an attacking midfielder just behind the striker or as part of the frontline.
Arsenal have been spoiled for choice in attack as Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have scored goals for fun. However, beyond that, there is a lack of goals in the team and Perez could be a useful option from the bench.
This transfer looks likely as the player is decent and available for a good price.
