Manchester United’s desire to land a midfielder before the close of the summer may have been given a boost as they may finally be able to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
He has been a long-time target and with the way things are going, this summer might be the Red Devils’ chance if he tells Lazio he wants to leave.
Daily Mirror quotes Lazio Chief, Claudio Latino, as saying he is ready to let the Spanish born Serbian star leave.
latito said that last year he managed to resist the assaults of other football clubs but hinted that this year he would have ‘fewer weapons’ if a different solution was proposed to the player.
“We’ve created a glasshouse, where it’s understood that people can’t be forced to perform their roles in an environment where they feel cramped,” Lotito told Corriere dello Sport.
Milinkovic has shown sincerity and responsibility, so that isn’t the case with him. He feels good here.
“Last year I managed to resist the assaults of other clubs, but this year I’d have fewer weapons if a different solution was proposed to the player.
“Let’s say that I used up some of my weapons last year.”
Sergej is known for his accurate passes and movement with the ball. He would worth the buy for Man Utd who are in dire need of a new midfielder following the departure of Fellaini, Herrera and the likely transfer of Pogba.
However, considering the £87 million being demanded by Lazio, Man Utd may have to look elsewhere.
The Red Devils are making moves to sign Bruno Fernandes.
