Liverpool have been linked with Bordeaux forward Francois Kamano according to reports from Italy.
Sports tabloid Calciomercato, claims that the Reds are exploring a move for the Guinea international.
It is understood that the Reds are preparing a bid within the region of £13.4 million for the forward. Liverpool have been unusually quiet in the transfer window with the club only signing youngsters Sepp Van den Berg and Harvey Elliot from PEC Zwolle.
It is understood that manager Jurgen Klopp is satisfied with his current options and only wants to sign players that can play backup to the front three. Kamano is seen as a good player for the Reds due to his style of play.
The club was keen on signing Lille forward Nicolas Pepe but lost out to Arsenal and have tabled Kamano as a cheap alternative.
Kamano signed for Bordeaux in 2016 and scored 13 goals in all competitions for the French side. This output does not reflect a player of Liverpool’s standard but as the Reds showed last season with Divork Origi the front three need a replacement that can score in key moments.
If Kamano is able to score when called upon to help the Reds win the coveted EPL title, only then would his move be justified.
