Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the transfer for Turkish stopper Ugurcan Cakir according to a report from Turkey.
It is understood that Liverpool have registered interest in the 23-year-old and have made an inquiry about his availability. Cakir is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Turkish League and has been linked to several clubs.
The Mirror claims that Cakir is viewed by the Reds as a capable replacement stopper for Belgium stopper Simon Mignolet.
Mignolet is thought to be closing in on a move out of the club as he seeks first-team opportunities after playing second fiddle to Alisson last season.
Liverpool are currently short of goalkeepers for the pre-season as reserve stoppers Kelleher and Jaros are currently injured while Alisson is on break due to the Copa America.
Cakir is likely to be valued for around £15 million and would represent a decent signing for the Champions League holders.
He can develop under Jurgen Klopp and become one of the best shot-stoppers in the world in the nearest future.
The 23-year-old played 20 games for Trabzonspor in the Turkish League last season. It remains to be seen how this transfer would shape up in the coming days.
