Liverpool to submit £70m bid for exciting Man United target – not Gareth Bale

The transfer window is on and many teams are working hard to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. The Premier League teams, in particular, are expected to have a record-breaking summer transfer window.

Sensational news from France reveals that Liverpool have indicated interest in signing Lille forward Nicolas Pepe. French outlet L’Equipe revealed that the Reds are mauling an offer of around £70 million for Pepe.

Pepe enjoyed a superb campaign for Lille as he became the talisman for the club. The Ivorian international had a career-high 23 goals and providing 12 assists as he led Lille to a second place finish in the French League.

It is understood that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the player and wants to add him to his star-studded squad. Pepe offers similar attributes to Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane

The 23-year-old boasts pace, positioning and an acute eye for goal which would make him a valuable addition to the team.

Klopp has shown that he is not afraid to splash the cash with big signings of Van Dirk and Allisson in recent transfer windows. It remains to be seen if the Reds would be willing to sanction a huge transfer for the talented forward.
