Liverpool are thought to be interested in the signing of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Portuguese Correio da Manha (h/t Sport Witness) reports that the Reds are the favourites to land the midfielder after negotiations began between both clubs.
Sporting Lisbon are interested in Liverpool youngster Rafael Camacho which could be the leverage for the Fernandes transfer. Camacho is said to be valued at £9 million by Liverpool but could be added as part of the transfer package for Fernandes.
Manchester United are thought to be losing out on Fernandes as the club are unwilling to proceed with negotiations until they have signed Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
It is reported that the Reds have already seen a bid of €45million rejected by the Portuguese side.
Jurgen Klopp wants the player to fill in as the creative playmaker for Reds which has been lacking since the departure of Coutinho in 2018. Bruno Fernandes is regarded as one of the finest midfielders in Europe.
He enjoyed his best season at the club last season, scoring 32 goals in all competitions and lead the club to the Portuguese Cup.
This transfer appears to be a three-way battle between Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
It remains to be seen which club would be able to sign the midfielder.
