Manchester United are set to allow goalkeeper Dean Henderson move to Sheffield United on a season-long loan ahead of next season.
According to reports from England Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to approve the move as he believes that the young stopper can gain top-flight experience at Sheffield United.
Henderson played for Sheffield this season helping the club secure a return back to the Premier League and the club are keen to keep him for another season. The 22-year-old was exceptional in the Championship making crucial saves for the club.
He conceded a league-low 41 goals which is a testament to his ability to organize the defence and keep clean sheets. Henderson is currently behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero in the pecking order at Old Trafford and a loan move looks like the best option for the player.
The Norwegian tactician has already spoken about the player and it looks like he has given his approval for another season at Bramall Lane.
“Let’s see what we do with Dean, “He obviously won promotion with Sheffield United and that’s been fantastic for him. “If he plays a year in the Premier League, for him that might be the best thing.”
Henderson has a bright future ahead and Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is the right coach to shape the goalkeeper as he continues to learn the trade.
Sheffield are odds-on to battle relegation next season in the top flight and Henderson would be a key figure in the battle to avoid the drop.
