Manchester United are getting closer to sealing the move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes according to reports from England.
The Portuguese international is believed to be keen on a move away from the club and Sporting Lisbon have welcomed the idea of losing the player this summer.
The Red Devils are thought to be planning a move for the player and CEO Ed Woodward is determined to make the move possible. Fernandes was exceptional last campaign for Sporting Lisbon and is considered as one of the best midfielders in Portugal.
Fernandes has been linked to the club in the past few weeks and there have been conflicting information about the transfer.
The likes of Tottenham and Liverpool have also been linked with the versatile midfielder. However, the report claims that both clubs have decided against the transfe,r leaving the Red Devils as the sole favourites for the player.
Sporting Lisbon have already planned a replacement for the player with the club closing in on Palermo midfielder Aleksandar Trajkovski. Transfer guru Alfredo Pedulla reveals that the Portugues club already agreed terms for the midfielder adjudged to be a replacement for the Old Trafford bound Fernandes.
It remains to be seen whether United would be able to complete the move as the Portuguese club are still holding out for £70 million.
