Manchester United are in the process of rebuilding after a disappointing 2018/2019 season and the club has been linked to several players.
One of which is Lyon ace Tanguy Ndombele and reports from England claims that Manchester United are willing to splash the cash to sign the Frenchman.
The Red Devils are light in midfield following the exit of Ander Herrera and the club are looking at the Lyon star as a key addition to the squad.
Ndombele enjoyed a breakthrough season at Lyon with the Frenchman a unique midfielder. Capable of playing in the central midfield position or as a defensive midfielder he possesses the strength and passing ability to thrive in the Premier League.
His performances have attracted attention from top clubs across Europe with Tottenham, PSG, Juventus and Manchester City monitoring his progress. However, Tottenham are said to be keen favourites for play amidst indecision of the other clubs interested in his signature.
Lyon are said to be demanding a fee of £80 million for the midfielder who scored 2 goals and provided 7 assists in all competitions this season. This would represent the second highest fee that United would shell for a player if the transfer goes through.
The current transfer landscape means that players are overpriced in the market Ndombele is certainly not worth £80 million. Despite this Manchester United remains one of the few clubs that can afford such a fee.
