Manchester United are ready to match the buyout clause of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey according to reports from his home country.
It is reported by the local media that Manchester United have identified the midfielder as a potential signing in the summer. Partey has emerged as one of the fast-rising stars in the La Liga BBVA.
He has been an ever-present in the Atletico Madrid midfield and possesses the strength and passing ability favoured by eccentric manager Diego Simeone. Partey is also a tough tackler and is known for his ability to turn defence into attack.
Manchester United are light in the midfield with the exits of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera gone in subsequent transfer windows. Partey would be an excellent signing to complement Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the midfield.
£43 million is a bargain for a player of his qualities but United could face competition from Inter Milan for his signature. However United have the edge as they can offer the Ghana international higher wages.
This is a good transfer for the Red Devils and would show that they mean business ahead of the new season.
