Manchester United are closing in on signing their top transfer targets if reports circulating around are actually valid.
The Red Devils are reportedly in advanced stages in the deals for Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff and it now looks as though an announcement for the third summer signing could yet be made next week.
It is reported that Sporting Lisbon president Frederico Varandas is willing to accept £53m in spite of Fernandes having an £88m release clause in his contract with the Portuguese club.
Sporting have no obligation to sell their star attacker, as he still has four years left on his current contract but it is believed that the 24-year-old wants a new challenge and has told his club of his desire to leave this summer.
It was earlier reported that Fernandes’ agent jetted into England ahead of talks with Man United chiefs.
Some sources also claim that the attacker has agreed personal terms with United and all that is left is for both clubs to reach an agreement.
The Man United fans were gutted by the Ander Herrera’s exit to PSG but signing Fernandes could yet placate them going into the new season.
Fernandes was on fire in the 2018/19 season where he chalked up 25 goals and 13 assists in 40 appearances for Sporting.
