Manchester United are close to signing Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka according to reports from England.
The England u21 player has been trending on major news outlets in the past few weeks as United have been locked in negotiations with Palace for his services.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to rebuild his defence and has highlighted some quality players that could improve the squad. Wan-Bissaka is high on the list, as the Norwegian tactician wants to improve the right fullback position.
Ashley Young is the current option in the position but turns 34 next season while Diogo Dalot is considered to be inexperienced to take play consistently in the position.
Wan-Bissaka was one of the best performers for Crystal Palace winning the club’s young player of the year. The 21-year-old is valued by Crystal Palace at around £60 million but the Daily Mail reports that United agreed on a deal that would see the club pay £42 million upfront with other bonuses to be decided by both clubs.
This would corroborate earlier reports claiming that Wan-Bissaka had agreed on personal terms with the Red Devils. It is understood that the total transfer package for the defender would make him the most expensive right-back in England surpassing the fee rivals Manchester City paid for Kyle Walker two seasons ago
